Perry County Public Library Book Mobile Visit to RW Combs Elementary

 This year our class gets to visit the book mobile from the Perry County Library. Mr. Terry Delph the book mobile librarian comes to visit every two weeks. Students parents fill out a permission form they choose three books each.

 This is the first visit. Students were excited their favorite books were about tv shows.

 It was a nice fall day outside so we decided to stay outside and enjoy reading our books.

 Sun grins couldn't smile for the sunshine.

IPad app Crazy Hair

When we first began using ipads in our classroom we started learning about the ipad. The students favorite in taking photos and videos. They also discovered an app called crazy hair. We got laughter out of this one. They put crazy hair on each others photos and next they put hair on pencils and different objects in the classroom.

A Tour of Our Classroom 2013-2014 School Year

This school year our class was reward an ipad grant through Gear Up. Excited needless to say. One happy teacher and happy students. The grant was for 30 student ipads, 1 teacher ipad, charging cart for ipads, and a imac.

Outside of our classroom we have a timeline. On this time line it will have photos and student work for each month. Using the timeline will show our work process and what we have done this school year. Please come check out our timeline.

 

This is behind the teacher's desk. This school year we are sharing our classroom with another special education class. This is a good thing we work together on class projects.

Our classroom is lucky to have a smart board. A smart board is hooked up to a computer and it becomes a touch screen white board.

I also received a Walmart grant for $500.00 for our classroom. I bought a vga adapter to hook up the ipad to the smart board. This allows me to teach apps before the students use them. This app is called Writing Wizard. This app teaches the correct way to write letters and number. The best part you can add your own word list and record the words. I made work list for the dolce sight words. When you click on the word it will have your voice recorded saying the word and then you trace it.

I would like to welcome you to my classroom blog. This blog will be about our classroom and our school, RW Combs Elementary. I want to share what is going on in the classroom and the activities to make school fun but also learn. I love technology, photography, and crafts. I am always looking for new ways to incorporate these into my teaching.
